A Compact Dehumidifier Perfect for Small Spaces! Our Experience with the Gurin DHMD-210

So after using this product in my apartment for about two weeks, I can definitely say that I am thoroughly impressed. Our air conditioner system has some issues – that the complex refuses to fix unfortunately — and when the fan is on for a length of time it causes moisture and humidity in the apartment making everything feel wet and damp. So, when I was offered the opportunity to try out the Gurin DHMD-210 Electric Compact Dehumidifer .. I jumped at it.

The product is – just as the name says – compact. It fits easily on the corner of my entertainment center in the living room – and does not take up much space at all. This is a huge plus for me because I live in a SMALL apartment and space is valuable. This little bugger could easily fit anywhere. I chose to put it on the entertainment center because I felt like it would help keep our electronics safe from condensation and moisture damage.

The product is super simple to use – it comes in three pieces – the humidifier, the water collection bin and the electric plug. To use – simply insert the containment bin into the open slot, plug the cord into the bag and plug into your outlet. From there all that is left is to switch the control on the front into the ‘on’ position and let it do it’s thing.

The green indicator light will tell you that the product is working and as it removes water and humidity from the air you will see water collect and fill the bin. When it gets close to being full – the red light will turn on telling you to cut the machine off and dump the bin. If you do not change it and it becomes full – the product has an auto shut off function which protects the device and prevents it from over filling and shorting out.

The bin is super easy to empty – just turn the device off and pull the bin out and dump into a sink or tub – and then put back and flip the switch back on. This product really could not be any more user friendly. It is super simple, super efficient and really does work. I was surprised that such a small machine could really keep the mugginess out of my entire apartment without a struggle. I run this machine pretty much 24 hours a day and it has given me no issues and works like a champ. I would certainly recommend this for offices, dorms and small apartments. Great Product.

Big Sound Comes in a Small Speaker! Why We Loved the XS BOOM Bluetooth Speaker

My husband and I love bluetooth speakers. We probably have ten around the house – one in each room and then a few more just as back ups. Obviously we love music LoL. These speakers come in super handy because they allow us to listen tom music straight from our phones and be able to take our music wherever we are instead of having to crank our computer or televisions super loud to hear it across the house.

I was not quite sure about the quality of the XSBOOM when I ordered it – it is genuinely a great deal smaller than the majority of speakers I have owned in the past – but I don’t like to judge a book by it’s cover – so I decided to give it a shot.. and I am so glad I did. This speaker has thoroughly impressed me on all levels. Small and mighty this speaker has hands down the best sound quality I have ever heard from a device this size. It beats out all over the other speakers I own as far as sound quality and range of audio. The sound is balanced, no static and there is no distortion on music with heavy bass. Which is great because a lot of small speakers cannot handle high-bass music without putting off that weird vibrating and metallic tinny noise distortion.

As far as ease of use is concerned. This speaker paired very easily with my device. It linked right up. I did not have to fight with the speaker or my device to get it to pair. The only nitpick I have about this product is that the range of reception is a bit shorter than other speakers that I have owned – but then again it is a smaller speaker. A con, yes – but not enough of an issue for me to lower my star rating at all.

This speaker is a bit more expensive than many speakers on the market – having said that many of the speakers are shoddy, cheaply made and not near as high quality as this product. You really get what you pay for when it comes to electronics. This product is really a great one to invest in. It is super user friendly and small – so it’s very portable. I can easily slip mine my purse and take it on the go. My husband works in a warehouse and he totes the darn thing to work and leaves it playing in his back pocket… and the whole warehouse can hear it. That’s how good the sound is. Definitely one of the better models I have come across. I definitely recommend it.

Get Sleek and Shiny Locks with the ISA Professional Straightening Iron: A Product Review

I have very long curly/wavy hair. It has plagued me all of my life. I have been using straight irons since I was about 13 and for as long as I can remember — it has always taken me the better part of an hour to really straighten my hair to my liking where everything is flat and there are no ‘floofy’ or frizzy parts. I am a bit of perfectionist. A lot of straighteners I have tried in the past just were not up to my standards because I really hate having to go over the same section of hair over and over again to get the results I want. So, when I was offered the opportunity to try out the ISA Professional Flat Iron – I was elated to try something different. It is not like I had anything to lose.

I really like this straightener. It is very simple to use – unlike most straighteners I have used in the past, this one does not have an option to adjust the heat – you just plug it in and flip the switch on and allow it to heat up. From what I gather – the straightener automatically adjusts to your hair and straightens it without burning or damaging.

If I let my hair dry naturally and then straighten – the Isa straightener will leave hair shiny, soft and straight after just a pass or two. There is no need to have to continuously go over the hair again and again. The device is easy to hold and fortunately the outside of the straightener stays pretty cool so you don’t have to worry about picking it up and burning yourself.

In the spirit of leaving an unbiased review – here are the reasons why I gave this product four stars rather than five. Firstly, I

really wish that there was a way to adjust the temperature of the ceramic plate – I think having the ability to increase the heat a bit would cut down on the amount of time needed to straighten the hair. I have found personally that my hair straightens better under high heat – but that’s just me.

The second reason is the width of the device it is only about an inch or so wide and while it does a great job straightening the hair.. I really wish it could handle bigger sections of hair at one time.

Other than that – I find no fault with this product. It is an excellent styling tool. Definitely lives up to it’s claims and expectations – especially considering it comes with a 2 year warranty. I have enjoyed using it and I would most certainly recommend it to others.

Lush and Luxurious! What We Thought of the MicroSuede Furniture Slipcover from FinalGrab

I have a one year old who co-sleeps with me because she has night terrors – so unfortunately – my husband opts to sleep in the living room to give us more space. I love him for it. A few months ago we went and purchased a lovely new futon to replace the old tattered love seat that we had in the living room. It is about as long as a couch and has a thick beige fabric covered mattress and has wooden arm rests. Looks great in our living room. The only issue is – the thing is super hard to clean – if anything gets on it it means having to unzip the massive mattress encasing and having to wash it… and we live in an apartment complex with community laundry facilities… and I don’t trust their machines not to ruin things – so, needless to say I have been looking for a cover for the futon since we got it – and when I was offered the opportunity to try out the Quilted MicroSuede furniture cover from FinalGrab I couldn;t have been more elated.

I ordered mine in the sofa size and in the lovely red color they offer. It’s more of a deep crimson/red wine color – but it’s gorgeous nevertheless. The product was super easy to unpack and put on the futon. You simply unfold it and drape accordingly. Part of the cover will hang over the top behind the couch and will hang on the bottom just below the cushion (maybe a little lower dependent on your individual piece of furniture.) Then you just adjust the cover to match up the arm rests on the fabric to the ones on the furniture and you are good to go. As you can see from my pictures, my arm rests are wood so I just draped the cover over them – and honestly it looks great. There is an area on the left corner of the top and the right corner that is not covered (maybe 2″) but it’s even and it looks like it is supposed to fit that way.

The Microsuede was a lovely choice of fabric for this furniture cover. It is super plush and very very soft. My husband sleeps on it every night and says that it makes the futon more bearable to sleep on. Plus – this is much easier to wash than trying to wash or steam the futon cover.
I really love this product and will likely be ordering several more to cover the other chairs in my home. It’s an amazing quality furniture cover – soft, durable and luxurious – plus it comes in so many colors so you’re bound to find one you like. I definitely recommend it.

Our Experience with the Chef Essential Classic 23-Piece Kitchen Utensil Set! A Must Have Set for Any Kitchen!

I have been looking for an inclusive MATCHING kitchen utensil set for some time now. I had lots of utensils – most most of them were hand me downs from friends and relatives – so a lot of them were old and stained and falling apart. I really wanted a set that looked great in my kitchen and so when I was offered the opportunity to try out the Chef Essentials Classic 23-Piece Kitchen Utensil Set – I was over the moon and couldn’t wait for it to arrive.

These utensils are high quality. They are all made of durable, heavy duty stainless steel and have sturdy uniform black and silver handles. You can easily tell they belong to a set. This utensil set really has EVERYTHING that you could possible need in the kitchen. It contains several types of spatulas in various sizes, several spoons and ladles, some slatted, some whole. It has tongs, a bottle opener, a vegetable peeler, a whisk, several sizes of measuring spoons and cups and even a pizza cutter. Like I said – if you need it in the kitchen – it’s in this set.

The utensils are easy to work with – they do not bend or break easily and are easy to clean. You can safely stick them in the dishwasher with no issues. I also really liked that they have the tiny cutouts in the end of the handle so you can actually hang them on the wall. I store most of mine in a large round open-top utensil holder – but just for aesthetic purposes I hung the measuring cups and a few of the larger spatulas on the wall. They are very durable but pretty lightweight considering and they hang easily on a finishing nail with no problems.

I love love love this utensil set. It looks great in my kitchen and I was finally able to throw away all of those odds and ends utensils – which made me extremely happy. I would definitely recommend this product. They look great and function phenomenally. Definitely happy to have this in my kitchen. My only comment is I wish they would come out with more sets in varying colors! That would be a lot of fun!

My Experience with the Uberve 2-in-1 Artist Set Acrylic Paint and Brushes

I love having art products around the house. I am very much into DIY crafts and love being artistic. I don’t paint in the traditional sense but I do often require paintbrushes and acrylic paints for projects that I make that require a bit of color here and there or simply for decorating pre-fab products like wooden mirrors or the occasional birdhouse. The set of brushes I had were old, stubby and the bristles were in horrible condition – so when I was offered the opportunity to try out the Uberve 2-in-1 artist set – I was stoked. It looked like it was everything I really needed for my painting kit.

The product comes with 15 long handled wooden paint brushes with no-shed synthetic hair bristles. The brush heads are coated in some sort of hardened preserving liquid when you get them. I think it keeps them from fraying, shedding or becoming dry rotted before they are used. A bit of warm water loosens and softens the bristles easily so that you can use them. The brushes have nice long handles so you don’t have to struggle to hold them and like I said there are 15 of them ranging in size from large to very small – so you will no doubt have the perfect brush regardless of the project you need it for. The brushes come in a lovely black carrying case – each with it’s own sheath pocket. The brushes stay inside their assigned pocket and to not just roll around in the case. This also prevents them from sliding and getting the bristles caught in the zipper. The case is durable and light weight but very protective. It can easily be slipped inside a tote or backpack for easy travel.

As far as the paints are concerned there are twelve different colors in this particular set of acrylics. All primary and neutral colors are included – if there is a color you are missing you may have to do a bit of blending to get a the shade you want – but that’s half the fun. Each color comes in a sturdy tube. They are individually sealed. Tubes are opened by puncturing the seal with the point in the end of the paint cap. The paint is easy to squeeze from the tube – I recommend doing so a little at a time so that you do not waste what you don’t need. The colors are bright, vivid and creamy and are easily spread by the paint brushes provided.

I have really enjoyed my experience with this product – definitely a great set for an aspiring painter who is starting out. The paint quality is fantastic and the brushes are easy to handle and leave lovely brush strokes. I would definitely recommend. Check out the video to see this product in action.

Easy Peasy White Teeth with Shine Whitening Professional Teeth Whitening Kit

 

So, here’s my confession for the day – I am addicted to coffee.. and I smoke. I know.. I know.. they are bad for me. I get it. My teeth get it too. My poor pearly whites have really paid the price for my vices all these years. i am not saying my teeth look like gold nuggets or anything – but they are certainly not as white as they could be.. and going to the dentist for teeth whitening is … well a luxury that i can’t fathom spending money on when I have a child and household bills to pay.

So what’s a girl to do? DIY health and Beauty? I think so. If you haven’t guessed – today I am giving you my take on  the Shine Whitening Professional Teeth Whitening Kit.

The kit itself looks small but that’s because the program is pretty simple. Not a lot of steps or parts. It comes with two trays (one for the top of your mouth and one for the bottom) It also comes with two syringes of the whitening treatment.

** Before I go any further into explaining use – i would like to take a second to give a warning to those with sensitive skin. You will be handling chemicals – and you may get some on your hands – if you are prone to skin reactions I suggest latex gloves for personal safety**

So, to use this product You uncap one syringe and put a thin coat across the trays. You can use the brush to smooth it out. The directions recommend putting ‘dots’ on the ‘tooth grooves’ in the trays – but the syringe didn’t really allow me that kind of accuracy – i just made sure it was lightly coated. You will then want to recap the syringe. This stuff is pretty sticky and will ooze out if not covered properly.

OK – so at this point – are instructed to place the trays in your mouth for roughly 15 minutes. The trays slide into the mouth easily – one tray at a time — similarly to putting in a mouth guard. The trays have little tabs on the front which make them easier to handle and maneuver into your mouth.

SO NOW WE WAIT…..

 

Ok-  fifteen minutes does not seem like a long time – unless you are waiting to show white your teeth are going to be!! I kept my trays in for fifteen minutes (there are warnings on the package for people with sensitive teeth in relation to time and spacing in between treatments – so if that apples to you, definitely take heed.)

I feel like I should stop a moment – and give you a little insight into my personal experience. I definitely recommend that when you do this – you either wear a shirt you don’t care about – or don’t wear one at all  – not because this process is messy but because the trays paired with the bleaching treatment will make your mouth water – and of course with the way the trays are placed – there is no way to control the fact that you are drooling all over yourself. Seriously, don’t let that keep you from buying this product – that will happen with most products of this variety. Also, be prepared to taste the bleaching solution at some point during the process. While you are not putting it directly in your mouth – all that moving saliva is likely to cause you to get a taste of it at some point. No worries though – It doesn’t taste good – but it is certainly not bad enough to make you gag or anything. Just don’t swallow any if you can help it.

DING! TIME IS UP. Lets check out those pearlies.

So at this point you are supposed to remove the trays. Once you do, rinse your mouth out a few times with water. The instructions say room-temp.. I’m guessing this has something to do with heightened sensitivity caused by the product.. but I am not entirely sure. I also recommend rinsing out your mouth trays before storing.

The JURY IS IN…

The Shine Whitening Professional Teeth Whitening Kit comes with this nifty little measuring guide on it’s back panel that can help you determine how much lighter your teeth are since using the product. If you plan to use it – I recommend gauging where you are before your first treatment – and then monitor after each treatment to see your progress.

Personally, I have been using this product for about three weeks – I have done a treatment about every three days. The first treatment or two … I didn’t see much of a difference in shade – but my teeth felt ridiculously clean. After about the third treatment – I really started to see steady progressive results each time. My teeth are definitely whiter and more healthy looking. Obviously – this is not a miracle product. You can’t just use it once and expect to have blinding white teeth – but, if you use the product as intended and do multiple treatments over a period of time – it is very likely that you will see some very significant results! I would definitely recommend this product to coffee drinkers and smokers who are looking to take a little age off their smile. This product is also perfect for people who don’t have the time or the luxury of being able to visit a dentist for whitening. This product is super affordable and contains enough bleaching treatment for numerous applications.

As far as affordability – I think it is definitely reasonable considering how many treatments you can do with one kit. Awesome Multi-Functional Car Trashcan by Mas27

I am a new mommy and constantly on the go… there are times I feel like I live in my car. I do my best to keep it trash and clutter free.. but more often than not I forget to throw things away because I am so busy. My car is a dysfunctional unorganized mess. I admit it. Is there a self help group for people with messy cars? Oh, well – I digress.

At any rate – because of my issues with trash around my car.. and the fact that I am super unorganized. I am always browsing around online looking for nifty gadgets, organizational tools and storage items… Not just for me – but things I think my readers would enjoy to. Recently, I was offered the opportunity to try the Car Trash Can made by Mas27.

So, I have to say – I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS PRODUCT. It is sold as a ‘car trash can’ and it certainly works for that. The container itself is large and roomy – BUT COMPACT. it has a velcro closure at the top and presses in to fold and becomes completely flat! The bag has convenient and super user-friendly straps that wrap around the headrest of a car seat, allowing the product to be placed conveniently in the back seat. I think this is an AMAZING placement – mostly because your kids can easily reach it to throw things away. No more sticky snack trash in the backseat!! (How awesome is that?!) Also the placement against the back of the seat also makes it simple for the person in the front seat to reach it (depending on what side of the car you attach it). I recommend getting one for both sides — they are just that awesome.

So, obviously like I said, Mas27 markets this as a car trash can… but OMG at the versatility of this product. It really can be used for so much more than a trash receptacle. The entire inside of the bag is lined, waterproof and leak-proof! Yes, this does make it great for protecting your car from leaking juice boxes, however … slap in an ice pack and you have a hanging lunchbox for a picnic or beach trip. This is exceptionally effective because the lining is so easy to clean. It also works as a resuseable thermal bag for toting groceries. On the other side of the spectrum – for college students – this hanging storage bin makes a great place to store some extra school supplies conveniently in your car.. in case you forget something you need.

I really cannot say enough about this bag and how much I have really enjoyed it. It is super effective and has a very streamlined look. My only criticism is that I wish it came in other colors… because then they would be ALL OVER MY HOUSE!.

How I fought My Insomnia with Maxasorb Melatonin Cream

I am an insomniac. i am often up all hours of the night working online – not because I have to – but because my body simply refuses to go to sleep. This is a very inconvenient problem to have – especially if you are a new mommy to a 7 month old daughter who (God Bless Her) runs me ragged all day. By the time night falls and my child is asleep – I’m exhausted and even though I should go to bed and try to catch some Zzs while she is asleep – my body simply will not let me. The result is that I am up super late and when I finally am able to sleep – I only get a few hours because my Ladybug likes to be up early.

So, After months and months of being tired and exhausted from this pattern – something wonderful happened. I was offered the opportunity to try the Maxasorb Melatonin Cream made by Vita Sciences. Now, just for background I must tell you that I have tried many other sleep aids in the past -both prescription and over the counter – but I have never really found a product that is both simple and effective for me… but I am happy to report that this stuff ACTUALLY WORKS.

The cream comes in an easy to use tube with dispenser pump. It claims on the package to absorb easily, provide sleep support and infuse your body with 3mg of melatonin per dose. It also claimed to be effective for treating insomnia and jet lag- while also being paraben free. Well, I cannot speak on how well it treats jet lag (as I have never suffered from that condition) however, it did amazing things to help me with my insomnia.

My Experience with Maxasorb Melatonin Cream

After putting my daughter to bed and taking a nice relaxing shower, I followed the instructions on the box, dispensing one full pump of the cream into my hand. I rubbed my hands together to warm it (not a ‘required step’ persay, but who like cold cream on their skin?) and applied the product as I would lotion from my wrists to my elbows and then rubbed the excess on my upper chest/neck area.

The cream absorbed quickly into my skin and did not leave the application sites greasy or sticky. The product had very little smell at all – and what I could faintly smell was very clean and light. As I was not tired when I put on the cream, I sat down at my desk to get some work done a I normally would because I wasn’t sure whether or not the product was going to work. Roughly fifteen minutes later my body felt very relaxed and my eyelids were heavy. I moseyed on off to bed and fell asleep almost as soon as I got comfortable.

I slept through the night  and even though I woke up and five with my daughter… I felt completely rested and energized. I could have cried. This product really solved an issue that had been plaguing me for a long time… and it required very little effort on my part. I definitely recommend this product to anyone who suffers from insomnia and has a hard time falling to sleep on their own. I experienced no side effects or negative reactions from using the cream.

I have been using the product every night for a bout two weeks now and am happy to report that the effects and results have not changed. I am now getting an easy, restful, full night’s rest EVERY NIGHT – without feeling groggy or tired the next day.

Product Review: Oz Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Serum For Skin

While I love testing new up-and-coming beauty products – it is very rare that I actually add one to my every day beauty routine. Seriously. If I decide to add a a product to my regimen it is either absolutely amazing or it replaces one or more products that I already use. Much to my surprise the Oz Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Serum for Skin meets not one but both of those requirements.

I have to tell you that when I first ordered and started using the Oz Naturals Serum, I certainly was not expecting much. Hyaluronic Acid serums are all the rage right now and everyone is marketing them. I honestly was not sure that this product would stand out or work any better than the other versions that I have tried.

I don’t have what I would call ‘horrible’ skin – but I certainly don’t have perfect skin either. I have some issues. My complexion is often red and blotchy and I have combination skin. Some areas of my face (like my chin) are oily while others (mainly my cheeks and nose) are very dry to the point of flaking and cracking. It is very hard for me to find skin products for my face, mostly because there are very few that can help with multiple issues without exacerbating one or the other. Fortunately for me the Oz Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Serum gently helps with several of my skin issues without creating new ones.

When reading the package you will find that this product is a serum based facial product that is ORGANIC, 100% vegan friendly and animal cruelty free ( which i love). As far as long term results- it is supposed to slow signs of aging and prevent wrinkles. In the short term, the serum is supposed to help moisturize the face and give your skin tone a more ‘youthful’ and ‘dewy’ appearance.

The serum is super easy to use and apply. I typically put mine on after a shower. After washing and patting your face dry simply use the dropper to put a small amount of serum in your hand. Rub your hands together and then apply to face. Rub the serum in as best you can – it can be a little sticky at first so i recommend washing hands afterward. It is recommended that you apply this product in conjunction with your favorite moisturizer at is supposed to really help it get deeper into the skin and moisturize more efficiently.  This product can be applied and worn everyday and you can apply your makeup on top of it. I just recommend that you give the serum a few minutes to really absorb and dry on your skin before applying any further product.

MY EXPERIENCE

I used this product as directed and have had pretty awesome results. Like I said – I don’t regularly add new products to my daily routine unless I really feel that they have benefit for me. After using this product for a week – I can definitely say that I am hooked. My skin has a more even and healthier looking skin tone and I am seeing a lot less blotchiness. Somehow – this product worked well with my body chemistry because not only have I experienced a drastic decrease in dryness and flakiness in my nose and cheeks but the areas of my face that are typically excessively oily are even, smooth and clear. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who is either looking for a great anti-aging preventative serum or for someone who needs an excellent product to supplement and boost the effects of your daily moisturizer.
