Get Sleek and Shiny Locks with the ISA Professional Straightening Iron: A Product Review

I have very long curly/wavy hair. It has plagued me all of my life. I have been using straight irons since I was about 13 and for as long as I can remember — it has always taken me the better part of an hour to really straighten my hair to my liking where everything is flat and there are no ‘floofy’ or frizzy parts. I am a bit of perfectionist. A lot of straighteners I have tried in the past just were not up to my standards because I really hate having to go over the same section of hair over and over again to get the results I want. So, when I was offered the opportunity to try out the ISA Professional Flat Iron – I was elated to try something different. It is not like I had anything to lose.

I really like this straightener. It is very simple to use – unlike most straighteners I have used in the past, this one does not have an option to adjust the heat – you just plug it in and flip the switch on and allow it to heat up. From what I gather – the straightener automatically adjusts to your hair and straightens it without burning or damaging.

If I let my hair dry naturally and then straighten – the Isa straightener will leave hair shiny, soft and straight after just a pass or two. There is no need to have to continuously go over the hair again and again. The device is easy to hold and fortunately the outside of the straightener stays pretty cool so you don’t have to worry about picking it up and burning yourself.

really wish that there was a way to adjust the temperature of the ceramic plate – I think having the ability to increase the heat a bit would cut down on the amount of time needed to straighten the hair. I have found personally that my hair straightens better under high heat – but that’s just me.

The second reason is the width of the device it is only about an inch or so wide and while it does a great job straightening the hair.. I really wish it could handle bigger sections of hair at one time.

Other than that – I find no fault with this product. It is an excellent styling tool. Definitely lives up to it’s claims and expectations – especially considering it comes with a 2 year warranty. I have enjoyed using it and I would most certainly recommend it to others.

Basically Trilane is supposed to help fight signs of aging – while helping to contour your skin, focusing on smoothing your skin and balancing your complexion to give you a nice youthful glow. Sounds Great Right? That’s because it is.

The Trilane Retinol+Vitamin C serum comes in a really nice frosted glass bottle. I love that. I can put it on my dresser amongst my pretty trinkets and perfumes and it looks right at home. The serum is ready to use right out of the bottle and has a really awesome push nozzle which makes it super easy to dispense.

My Experience With Trilane

So, like I said – the pump nozzle makes it super easy to dispense just the right amount. A little of this serum goes a long way. It has some awesome moisturizing agents in it – so I definitely recommend not going overboard – especially if you have oily or combination skin – it might cause breakouts.

When using this product – I started with a clean face. I applied this serum at night after washing my face right after a shower. In theory you could probably use this under your makeup during the day… but your skin does a lot of work at night healing itself and regenerating skin cells and such. Sleeping with this serum on your face without all of the cosmetics in the way to interfere really lets the goodness of this serum soak into your face. But alas, I digress. This is just my opinion.

At any rate. In my personal experience, I find that serums are best applied with the hands. I dispense one or two pumps directly into my palm, rub my hands together a few times and massage into my face in circular motions. While I do put the serum on my entire face, I tend to focus on my dry and problem areas.

The Verdict:

I have been using this product for about a month and I am positive that this is the best retinol serum i have ever had the pleasure of using. Not only is application super simple- the product is EFFECTIVE. I have noticed some pretty huge changes in my skin. It’s softer for one – but it is also firmer and more supple in all the right places. My skin tone, which is usually a bit uneven and blotchy is more even and balanced. I am definitely seeing less redness and irritation. My face feels amazingly smooth and I am experiencing a lot less flaking and dryness in my t-zone. This serum is super light weight and is not heavy, cakey or oily on my skin. Once it dries – there is no stickiness or tackiness – you can’t even tell it’s there. My skin feels so much healthier.. and that is a huge deal! That being said – I definitely recommend this product. It does what it claims to you.

Easy Peasy White Teeth with Shine Whitening Professional Teeth Whitening Kit

 

So, here’s my confession for the day – I am addicted to coffee.. and I smoke. I know.. I know.. they are bad for me. I get it. My teeth get it too. My poor pearly whites have really paid the price for my vices all these years. i am not saying my teeth look like gold nuggets or anything – but they are certainly not as white as they could be.. and going to the dentist for teeth whitening is … well a luxury that i can’t fathom spending money on when I have a child and household bills to pay.

So what’s a girl to do? DIY health and Beauty? I think so. If you haven’t guessed – today I am giving you my take on  the Shine Whitening Professional Teeth Whitening Kit.

The kit itself looks small but that’s because the program is pretty simple. Not a lot of steps or parts. It comes with two trays (one for the top of your mouth and one for the bottom) It also comes with two syringes of the whitening treatment.

** Before I go any further into explaining use – i would like to take a second to give a warning to those with sensitive skin. You will be handling chemicals – and you may get some on your hands – if you are prone to skin reactions I suggest latex gloves for personal safety**

So, to use this product You uncap one syringe and put a thin coat across the trays. You can use the brush to smooth it out. The directions recommend putting ‘dots’ on the ‘tooth grooves’ in the trays – but the syringe didn’t really allow me that kind of accuracy – i just made sure it was lightly coated. You will then want to recap the syringe. This stuff is pretty sticky and will ooze out if not covered properly.

OK – so at this point – are instructed to place the trays in your mouth for roughly 15 minutes. The trays slide into the mouth easily – one tray at a time — similarly to putting in a mouth guard. The trays have little tabs on the front which make them easier to handle and maneuver into your mouth.

SO NOW WE WAIT…..

 

Ok-  fifteen minutes does not seem like a long time – unless you are waiting to show white your teeth are going to be!! I kept my trays in for fifteen minutes (there are warnings on the package for people with sensitive teeth in relation to time and spacing in between treatments – so if that apples to you, definitely take heed.)

I feel like I should stop a moment – and give you a little insight into my personal experience. I definitely recommend that when you do this – you either wear a shirt you don’t care about – or don’t wear one at all  – not because this process is messy but because the trays paired with the bleaching treatment will make your mouth water – and of course with the way the trays are placed – there is no way to control the fact that you are drooling all over yourself. Seriously, don’t let that keep you from buying this product – that will happen with most products of this variety. Also, be prepared to taste the bleaching solution at some point during the process. While you are not putting it directly in your mouth – all that moving saliva is likely to cause you to get a taste of it at some point. No worries though – It doesn’t taste good – but it is certainly not bad enough to make you gag or anything. Just don’t swallow any if you can help it.

So at this point you are supposed to remove the trays. Once you do, rinse your mouth out a few times with water. The instructions say room-temp.. I’m guessing this has something to do with heightened sensitivity caused by the product.. but I am not entirely sure. I also recommend rinsing out your mouth trays before storing.

The JURY IS IN…

The Shine Whitening Professional Teeth Whitening Kit comes with this nifty little measuring guide on it’s back panel that can help you determine how much lighter your teeth are since using the product. If you plan to use it – I recommend gauging where you are before your first treatment – and then monitor after each treatment to see your progress.

Personally, I have been using this product for about three weeks – I have done a treatment about every three days. The first treatment or two … I didn’t see much of a difference in shade – but my teeth felt ridiculously clean. After about the third treatment – I really started to see steady progressive results each time. My teeth are definitely whiter and more healthy looking. Obviously – this is not a miracle product. You can’t just use it once and expect to have blinding white teeth – but, if you use the product as intended and do multiple treatments over a period of time – it is very likely that you will see some very significant results! I would definitely recommend this product to coffee drinkers and smokers who are looking to take a little age off their smile. This product is also perfect for people who don’t have the time or the luxury of being able to visit a dentist for whitening. This product is super affordable and contains enough bleaching treatment for numerous applications.

As far as affordability – I think it is definitely reasonable considering how many treatments you can do with one kit. Get Your Glow on With Adovia’s Dead Sea Mud Mask

You guys know I am a huge fan of skin products. I have problem combination skin (my readers know this all too well) so anytime I find an amazing product that I think will help people I like to take the time to share it. Recently, i was offered the opportunity to try out Adovia’s Purifying Dead Sea Mud Mask. The verdict is in… I LOVE IT.

Honestly, I can tel you – I have never really been a huge fan of masks of any sort. I find them tedious, sticky and time consuming. I’m a new mommy – so anything I include in my beauty regimen has to be quick, easy and effective. This mask oddly enough meets my standards and has been far more effective than I ever would have imagined.

The product comes in an attractive, easy-to-squeeze tube. The ‘mud’ is the consistency of a thick paste and comes out of the tube slowly – which I think is awesome because it prevents you from getting more than you need. I would rather get too little and be able to get more if I need it than get to much and feel like the product is wasted.

At any rate, this product is full of awesome good-for-you components that really help give your skin an healthy dose of va-va-voom! The product ingredient list includes Dead Sea black mud, beeswax, jojoba oil, evening primrose oil and olive oil. All of these things are wonderful on their own of course – but this product puts them all together to give your skin a super boost of cleansing, moisture and nutrients!

The product claims that it boosts cell renewal and tightens pores while also pulling unwanted toxins out of your skins as it dries. It is also supposed to soothe skin and improve elasticity.

My Experience with This Product 

After showering and cleansing my face, I apply a thin layer of Adovia’s Purifying Dead Sea Mud Mask to my face, making sure I cover everything from my forehead to my upper neck. Obviously – you should stay away from your eyes, no need to elaborate on that. Once I applied the product I let it dry completely on my skin. Typically this takes about 15-20 minutes. When I use it – I will put it on and then go about my evening chores – cleaning the kitchen, doing laundry etc. No need to worry about mess – this product is not runny nor does it drip. During my personal use, I have noticed that you can feel the mask drying and tightening on your skin. No worries – this just means it’s working! Once  the product to dries thoroughly, I simply use a wash cloth and warm water to rinse away the mask.

The Verdict

I have been using this product once a week for several weeks now and I can definitely say it is extremely effective. Immediately after rinsing away the mask my skin feels super-smooth and refreshed. My pores even feel tighter. I personally apply face moisturizer on right after to lock in some extra moisture. I only use once a week because I have issues with dryness, however this product is super gentle and has a lot of great moisture infusing oils in it so it hasn’t caused me any issues in that department. Since I have added the Adovia Deep Sea Mud Mask to my routine in addition to my regular cleansing and moisturizing – my face feels so much cleaner and the large pores around my nose seem to shrink and become less noticeable with each use. It really gives my face that light, dewy glow that we all chase after.

I definitely recommend this product to anyone who really wants to give their skin some extra special attention, especially if you are looking for a simple, user-friendly product that is super gentle on skin. This product has definitely made an impact on the health and appearance of my skin and for that I couldn’t be more thankful. I used the product as directed on the package and have not experienced any negative skin reactions or side effects.
